Dhaka: The son of the freedom fighter who passed the preliminary and written examination by taking part in the 23rd BCS (Special) Exam 2000, Dr. The Appeals Division has ordered the Sumna government to conduct an oral examination.
An appeals bank headed by the Chief Justice approved the order on Thursday (November 19).
Attorney Motahar Hossain Saju and Attorney Selina Akter Chowdhury represented Sumna Sarkar in court. On the other hand, lawyer Shamim Khaled Ahmed was in favor of PSC.
Attorney Motahar Hossain Saju said that Sumna Sarkar participated in the examination as the daughter of a freedom fighter in the 23rd BCS Health (Special) Panel. He passed the preliminary and written examinations. On June 25, 2003, the PSC failed to issue oral exam cards to many candidates, including Sumna, citing complications related to the freedom fighter certificate. Later they could not give oral evidence.
Some of those who were deprived of oral evidence filed a judicial petition with the High Court in 2003. The High Court ordered them to carry out an oral examination at the hearing of their writ. They were also named on the basis of that order.
Later in 2009, Dr. Sumna Sarkar also approached the High Court. Following the hearing of his written request, the Superior Court in 2015 ordered an oral examination.
The PSC appealed to the Appeals Division against the verdict. Following the request hearing, the Appeals Division today resolved the request by ordering the PSC to give Sumna the opportunity for an oral examination. As a result, Sumna Sarkar had the opportunity to take her BCS exam alive after almost two decades.
Sumna Sarkar works as an ophthalmologist at a private ophthalmic hospital in Chittagong. His father, a freedom fighter teacher. Amal Krishna Sarkar was a member of the Kaderia Bahini in Tangail.
