After 15 long years, the people of Gabura’s Chandnimukho village, union of Shyamnagar upazila from Satkhira, shed tears of joy after seeing the scene of the loving reunion of mother and son.
Gabura UP president GM Mashudul Alam said that elderly Abeda Begum (69) used to sit alone in a tin hut in Chandnimukho Bazar when she was a bit helpless. No one knew her name. However, she used to offer regular prayers. Pedestrians fed him. This mother has now been found by her son Al Amin de Bagerhat.
Al Amin from Gharkhol village in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat said that he and his family members had shed tears for his mother for so long. Now getting the mother is like putting the moon in the sky.
Al-Amin said his mother, Abeda Begum, disappeared on a stormy night 15 years ago. Before that, he had mental problems. They had searched for it for a long time. He could not find his mother even after trying various ways, including the microphone, GD at the police station, posting notices in the newspapers. However, Al-Amin believed that his mother was alive. Wherever Al-Amin went, he looked for his mother. But nowhere.
Al Amin said he came to Gabura in Shyamnagar upazila on Friday to receive a wedding invitation from Bagerhat. There he was also looking for his mother. When everyone is drunk with the joy of marriage, Al Amin discovers that there is an old woman in the Chandnimukho bazaar. I can not speak. Everyone calls him crazy, they feed him. Al-Amin said that he left the wedding market after receiving the news. There he saw his ‘crazy’ mother sitting. After 15 years, he found his mother in front of him and hugged her. Mao muttered something under his breath. Both eyes were crying profusely. Seeing such a scene, the villagers could not hold back their tears. After 15 years of seeing this great reunion of mother and son, everyone said that they were truly lucky.
“We, four brothers and two sisters, were devastated to lose my mother,” Al Amin said.
Now overcoming his frustration, Al Amin returned with his mother to their village house in Mongla Upazila.
UP President Masudul Alam added: “I have sent them home since I was present.”
