A cultural affairs sub-committee of the Bangladesh Awami League has been formed for the period 2019-2021.
On Thursday, Awami League Secretary General Obaidul Quader approved the 45-member subcommittee on instructions from Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. Actors Ferdous and Zayed Khan and other stars have taken place on the committee.
The subcommittee was formed with Ataur Rahman, a prominent playwright, a member of the Awami League advisory council, as chairman and Asim Kumar Ukil MP, culture secretary of the Awami League, as a member secretary.
According to party sources, the practice of forming divisional subcommittees began from the 2018-2019 period. Ataur Rahman and Asim Kumar Ukil also acted as chairman and member secretary, respectively, on the previous committee. These two leaders will again lead this subcommittee.
On this occasion, the subcommittee has been formed predominantly by former leaders of the Bangladesh Chhatra League, an ally of the Awami League. In addition, important figures from various areas of the country’s cultural sphere have also been included.
