Abrar’s father is excited in court

`The accused killed my son Abrar Fahad Rabbi by inhumane physical torture for six hours. I want justice for his court murder, “said Barkat Ullah, father of the slain student from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Abrar Fahad.

Dhaka Speedy First Instance Court Judge Abu Jafar Mohammad on Monday. He went to the Kamruzzaman court to give the details of his statement and spoke in a tearful voice. Testimony against the accused in the case of beating Abrar to death has begun. Barkat Ullah, the plaintiff in the case and Abrar’s father, testified in court. He supported the statement and asked the court for justice for killing the boy.

On September 20, the judge of the Dhaka court of first instance, Abu Zafar. Kamruzzaman’s court was scheduled to testify in the case. But the same day, the prosecution requested time because the father of the plaintiff Abrar suffered from jaundice. The court granted the request for time and set October 5 for testing.

On the night of October 8, 2019, BUET Chhatra League leaders and activists called BUET student Abrar Fahad for giving him status on Facebook. Her body was recovered from the ground floor and two-story corridor of BUET’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall around 3pm. The next day, at noon on October 6, Abrar’s autopsy was completed at the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital Morgue. The deceased was identified as Abrar, a second-year student in BUET’s Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

The father of the victim, Barkat Ullah, filed a murder case against 19 people at the Chawkbazar police station. On November 13, 2019, Wahiduzzaman, the investigating officer in the case, filed a charge sheet against 25 individuals at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Court. Among the 25 accused, 19 are not declared and six are not. Sixteen of the 19 accused and five of the six not accused have been arrested. Eight of the detainees have made confessional statements in court.
