Maulana Anas Madani, the youngest son of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, CEO of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Mueenul Islam Hathazari Bara Madrasa in Chittagong and Amir of Hifazat-e-Islam, claims that his father lost his father ‘due to the tension ‘or heart failure).

After Ahmed Shafi’s death at Azgar Ali Hospital near Dhupkhola Math in Gandaria, Old Dhaka, on Friday evening, his eldest son and director of Pakhiartila Qawmi Madrasa in Rangunia, Maulana Mohammad Yusuf Madani said: ‘He (Ahmad Shafi) will be taken to Hathazari Madrasa in the evening. His janaza will be celebrated on Saturday (today) after the Johar Madrasa installations. His body will be buried in the madrasa cemetery after Janaza.

Furthermore, Ahmed Shafi’s youngest son, Anas Madani, said on Friday: “My father was well for a long time despite his illness. Abbajan suddenly fell ill yesterday (Thursday) due to an unfortunate incident and was transferred to Chittagong Medical College. The doctors called me and told me that my father had had a heart attack due to stress. That’s why this is the situation today. ‘

When asked about the Hathazari incident, Anas Madani said, “I do not want to say such things with heavy heart in this situation.”

Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong has been under siege for two days due to two days of protests.

The honorable release of Ahmed Shafi was one of the demands made by the protesters after the vandalism and protests inside the madrassa over a dispute between the two parties for control of the madrasah.

Ahmed Shafi decided to expel his son Anas Madani from the madrasa in addition to his own release at a shura meeting on Thursday night in the face of demands from the protesters in the madrasa.

Madani said that in accordance with Ahmed Shafi’s wishes, his only janaza will be at Hathazari Madrasa today at 2 pm and then he will be buried in the cemetery there.

Anas Madani said: ‘My father was in favor of a janaza all his life. Please do not confuse it with any other sector. ‘
