Detainee Alpana Khatun admitted in preliminary questioning that she stole another newborn after stealing the first to raise her, as he was not her own child.

Soran Bibi, wife of the late Solaiman Hossain from the Alokdia village of Salanga Police Station, his daughter Alpana Khatun, son Rabiul Islam, Moina Khatun, wife of Rabiul, Mina Khatun, wife of the late Saiful Islam from the same village, wife of Rezaul Khadija Khatun, the Shariful Islam village doctor and 6 other people were arrested. At the end of the press conference, the detainees were sent to jail through the court.
At the press conference, the Police Superintendent said that although Alpana Khatun was married 6 years ago, they had no children. For this she had to endure various torture in her husband’s family. That is why she moved from her husband’s house to her father’s house saying that she had no children.
From there, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib used to visit the 250-bed Sirajganj General Hospital from time to time to steal children. Because of this, he used to befriend a hospital employee and talk on his mobile phone at different times.
At one stage, he also exchanged money as part of a child abduction scheme. According to the plan, the 23-day-old baby Mahim was stolen from the 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj on Tuesday afternoon.
The next day, when the girl fell ill, Alpana and her relatives, the doctor from the surrounding village. Take it to Shariful. At that point Shariful pushed the injection into the boy’s body and after a while the boy died. Later, Alpana hid Mahim’s body in the rice paddy of her home.
Then, on Saturday afternoon, Alpana, wearing a burqa, came out of the house again to rob the boy and baby Samiul from the Sakhawat Memorial Hospital.
“We collected CCTV footage of the incident from different locations,” the police superintendent said. After viewing the footage, we raided the town of Alokdia at the Salanga Police Station on Saturday night and rescued Mahim, one of the two robbed children, and Samiul, who was alive. Five women and three men from the gang involved in the incident were arrested at the time.
