DIG Devdas said on Saturday that Rabiul Islam, a gardener fired from Ghoraghat Upazila Parishad, had been arrested and that he was the person involved in the attack.
On the night of September 2, UNO Wahida and her father Omar Ali were attacked while entering the Ghoraghat Upazila Parishad facility in Dinajpur with a fan. Wahida, who was seriously injured by a hammer blow to the head, is now receiving treatment at a Dhaka hospital.
RAB-13 captain Reza Ahmed Ferdous, who arrested three people two days after the incident, attended a press conference in Rangpur and said that Asadul (35) had entered the house to rob. His associates were Nabirul Islam (34) and Santu Kumar Biswas (28).
The RAB, which is investigating the incident, also said that Asadul had “admitted his involvement.”

Asadul from the Sagarpur area of Ghoraghat upazila is now in the custody of Detective Branch (DB) for questioning. The DBE is investigating the case.
Asadul was associated with the Juba League. Following his arrest, he was expelled from the organization.

Asadul, Nabirul and Santu have already been arrested in the case. Rabiul was arrested as the fourth person.
