A case has been brought against a young woman for violating a cannabis party at her home in Moulvibazar. The victim presented the case at the Moulvibazar Model Police Station on Monday afternoon.
The case has been brought against Sajeeb Tushar, organizational secretary of the Moulvibazar district branch of the Socialist Student Front, and Raihan Ansari, a member of the BSD district, and Marjia Prabha, founder of the women’s protection movement.
Moulvibazar Police Officer in Charge (CO) Yasinul Haque confirmed the matter.
Meanwhile, the incident has been the subject of intense criticism, protests and condemnation on social media in the last week. The locals are also angry about the issue.
According to the record, the incident took place on the night of August 3 at the home of a young man named Mahmud H Khan in the Sonapur area of the city of Moulvibazar. He is known as a journalist. Five people were present at this party, all young.
It is known that after the incident, when these five tried to reach an agreement among themselves, it failed. About 20 days later, Mahmud H Khan posted about it via social media. Sajib Tushar and Raihan Ansari were expelled from their respective organizations on the basis of allegations circulating on social media prior to the case. An emergency meeting was called at the Moulvibazar Press Club on the night of August 30, and Mahmud H Khan’s associate membership was canceled.
