The High Court has rejected a petition calling for the annulment of a case filed in Satkhira against the then opposition leader and the convoy of current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina a decade and a half ago.
Justice Mostafa Zaman Islam and Justice. A virtual high court composed of Kamrul Hossain Mollah approved the verdict on Thursday.
On August 23, 2016, the Superior Court suspended the processing of the case as a result of a petition presented by one of the defendants requesting the dismissal of the case. This rule was rejected and today the verdict was given.
The court said in the verdict: ‘This is an old case. The court has been ordered to resolve the case within three months.
The defendant Rakib alias Rakibur Rahman was ten years old at the time of the incident. In light of this, the Superior Court issued a stay order along with the rule. Since then, the processing of the case has not advanced. After learning about the matter, the state recently took the initiative to hold a rules hearing on the matter. Following this, the rule hearing began in Superior Court on September 24. Following the rule hearing on October 6, the Superior Court set October 8 for the verdict.
