A bomb was detonated near the Jessore Kotwali model police station on Tuesday afternoon, taking Tk 16 lakh away. Two people carrying money were injured in the incident in front of United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL) 100 yards from the police station. The injured have been identified as Enamul Haque, 35, the son of Habibur Rahman from the Bakchar Hushtala area of ​​the city and Iqbal Hossain, owner of Agmani Motors in the RN Road area, and Emon, 20, the son of Imdadul. from the same area. Enamul was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses and injured persons said that Enamul and Emon arrived on a motorcycle at noon to deposit Tk 16 lakh from Agamni Motors with United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL). After getting off the motorcycle in front of the bank, seven or eight masked men surrounded them. The malefactors stabbed Enamul in the hands, abdomen and chest and took Tk 16 lakh from him. He then detonated a powerful bomb and fled on a motorcycle down the alley in front of City Plaza. The bomb broke the glass in the bank’s ATM booth. Emon was also injured at the time.

Police rushed to the scene immediately after the incident. Two injured were rescued and taken to Jessore Medical College Hospital. As Enamul’s condition was critical, Abdur Rashid, a doctor from the hospital’s surgical department, sent him to Khulna. Emon has been given first aid.
