A bank official died after falling from the roof of a 10-story building in Khulna

He “jumped” from the roof of the Modern Tower in Moulvipara around 8:30 am on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Abrar Rahman Shuvo, 34, a senior executive at the Khulna branch of Al Arafah Islami Bank. He is the son of Atiyar Rahman from Rayul Rabulbunia of Rampal in Bagerhat.

Khulna OC Ashraful Alam Police Station said Shubh jumped from the building’s 10-story roof in the morning. He died on the spot.

Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

“It just came to our attention then. The matter will become clear once the autopsy report is available.”

He also said closed-circuit camera footage is being collected at different locations in the building.

According to the deceased’s colleagues, Shuvo lived with his parents and his wife on the ninth floor of the modern tower in Moulvipara.

Authorities transferred him from the Khulna branch of Al Arafah Bank to the Chuknagar branch on Monday. On the occasion of the transfer, his colleagues greeted him from the bank on Monday.

Mentioning that Shubh was hard-working and honest in his career, his colleagues further said that Shubhar was supposed to join the bank’s Chuknagar branch on Tuesday morning.
