1,200 bags of stolen rice from Chandpur were recovered from the warehouse of Juba League leader Jabed Hossain Bhuiyan in the port of Narayanganj. On the night of April 29, the upazila administration retrieved rice from the warehouse of a clothing factory in the Keodhala area of ​​the Madanpur area of ​​the port. Police said a load of 2,100 bags of rice belonging to local merchants disappeared from the Ghat River at Puranbazar in Chandpur on the morning of April 27. A case was also brought up at the police station in this incident. On the night of April 29, Shukla Sarkar, Officer of Upazila Nirbahi (UNO), raided the secret information base in the fall of Hyderi Knit Composite in the Keodhala area of ​​Mandap in the port. The warehouse is owned by local Juba League leader Jabed Hossain Bhuiyan. 1,200 bags of rice were recovered from there. Jabed is the secretary general of the Madanpur Union Juba League.
In this regard, the UN Shukla Sarkar said that, after receiving information through secret sources, they raided the warehouse. In total, 1,200 bags of rice were recovered. The rice was confiscated since valid paper could not be shown against the rice stock. The warehouse has been sealed.
When news of the rice rescue in Narayanganj spread to the media, rice traders in Chandpur contacted the police. Later, they arrived at the Narayanganj port with Inspector Morshed Alam from the Chandpur Sadar Police Station to verify the documents. After verification and selection, the stolen Chandpur rice has been confirmed to have been recovered here.
When asked about this, Ishtiaq Ashraf, in charge of the Dhamgarh police post, said the rice was similar to the information on the stolen rice in Chandpur. The stolen rice was recovered in Narayanganj. As there is a case in Chandpur in this incident, it has not yet been decided if there will be a new case.
Juba League leader Jabed Hossain said he had bought the rice from a man named Rashed Ahmed of Chandpur. He bought and stored rice due to the low price.
The Chandpur Sadar Police Station inspector and the investigating officer of the case, Morshed Alam, said a case had been brought against a person named Rashed Ahmed of the Chandpur Sadar Police Station, for stealing rice. Under the theft law, the person with whom stolen property can be found is also charged. As such, the rice recovered in the custody of the Madanpur Union Juba League general secretary will also be included in the case. Additionally, if another person’s name appears in the investigation, they will also be charged.
