Finally, the UN Saika Shahadat from Pekua upazila from Cox’s Bazar has been withdrawn. The Comilla Brahman for Upazila Nirbahi officer, Nazma Siddique Begum, has been appointed in his place.

In a circular issued Thursday night, Saika Shahadat has been attached to the Office of the Division Commissioner for Chittagong.

The notification, signed by Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Shankar Ranjan Saha of the Chittagong Office of Divisional Commissioner, ordered the newly appointed UNO to join the transferred workplace before May 3.

The UN Saika Shahadat, who withdrew from Pekua, was recently accused of being involved in a 15-ton rice scam.

The Ministry of Public Administration withdrew him from Pekua and named a new UN shortly after Kaler Kantha published news online about various UN irregularities and corruption Saika Shahadat, including the rice scandal.

Meanwhile, people from all walks of life in Pekua welcomed the government’s swift decision. They hope to take the necessary steps by investigating the charges against the withdrawn UN through an impartial investigative agency or ACC.

Cox Bazar-1 MP Zafar Alam Pekua confirmed the withdrawal of the UN Saika Shahadat and the appointment of Nazma Siddique Begum as the new UN.
