Born in Victoria on March 6, 1945, Watson has played 108 games for Victoria, Western Australia, and New South Wales in his first-class career.
Watson ended his career in New South Wales in 1986. He also played five tests and two ODIs for the Australian national team from 1982 to 1982. He has earned 96 test races and 11 ODI races. 6 wickets in tests and 2 wickets in ODIs.
Watson became the first Australian cricket player to play for three different states on the Sheffield Shield.
However, Watson has been injured for most of his career. In the 1981-82 season, Watson suffered a major injury in one of Tony Gregg’s illnesses. The doctors then told him to quit the game. But then he returned to the field. Watson played two tests in England in 1982.
