BSF rubber bullets wounded 3, including BGB members, border tension

Rubber bullets were fired by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) when the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and locals prevented them from pushing an unidentified Indian citizen on the Burimari-Chandrabandha border in Patgram upazila from Lalmonirhat. Two Bangladeshi locals, including a member of the BGB camp at the Burimari land port, were injured. The incident took place at the Burimari-Chandrabandha port, on the Zero Point border, on Thursday (April 23) between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Burimari company commander of Rangpur-61 BGB battalion Omar Farooq confirmed the incident.
The wounded are Abdul Aziz Pettu, 50, son of Boktar Uddin from the Tantipara area of ​​the Burimari Union and Ainul Haque, 40, son of Motibar Rahman from the same area. The injured BGB member is Khokon Hossain.
The injured Abdul Aziz Pettu said that BSF members put pressure on an Indian citizen around 5:30 pm on Thursday. Locals gathered to protest. At that time, BSF started shooting rubber bullets for no reason.
When asked, Omar Farooq, commander of the BGB camp company in the Burimari land port, said: “We have sent a strong letter of protest about it.” The BSF has been called for a flag meeting. Currently the situation is under control. BGB is implemented at various points, including location.
“Initially we learned that the BSF fired eight rounds of rubber bullets,” he said. A BGB member along with two civilians were injured.
