Sukumar Sarkar, Dhaka: Shakib Al Hasan, one of the best cricketers in the world, won the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Shakib took the bat’s base price as five lakh rupees. A Bangladeshi expat from America bought it at four times the base price, ie 20 lakh rupees.

The auction ended shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday. An expatriate American businessman named Raj bought the bat by bidding on the ‘Auction for Action’ Facebook page for Rs 20 lakh. He lives in New Jersey. Shakib confirmed the bat auction matter last night. The bat will be up for auction from noon on Wednesday until 11 p.m. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Shakib Al Hasan Foundation. It will be spent for the homeless, the destitute.

Shakib said: ‘I have decided to auction one of my favorite bats. I have played many games with this bat. There are many memories involved with this bat. For quite some time I have not been with cricket. So, I have no connection to this bat right now. I’ll go online later and talk about the auction details. All proceeds from the sale of the bat will be donated to the Shakib Al Hasan Foundation, which will help those in need.

Shakib displayed dazzling skill at the 2019 World Cup with this bat. He took 11 wickets with an average of 36.28 in eight games. He scored 606 runs at an average of 7.56. The centuries were two, half a century and five. He was fired before scoring half a century in just one game. Auction for Action started this auction on their Facebook page. This is the first time I have taken the charity of a cricket player for Bangladesh. Shakib and other auction organizers, overwhelmed by the response at first, thanked the people of the country.
