Narayanganj: The police detained Mamunul Haque, Deputy Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam, along with a woman at a resort in Sonargaon de Narayanganj.
Mamunul Haque was locked into the compound on Saturday (April 3) afternoon.
Several videos of the incident have gone viral on social media. The local administration says that the police administration is present at the scene. They are investigating the incident.
Narayanganj (SP) Police Superintendent Mohammad Zaidul Alam told the media that locals surrounded the complex with news that Mamunul Haque was staying with a woman in a room at the Sonargaon Royal Resort Police Station in Narayanganj. After receiving the news, the police went there. Mamunul Haque told police that the woman who was with him was his second wife. Later, the police escorted him into the room with security.
According to local police, Mamunul Haque went up to room 501 at the Royal Resort in the morning. Mamunul Haque has been staying at the resort with a woman since noon. In this news, the people of the area surrounded the spa.
Sonargaon Police Inspector (investigation) Tabid Rahman said: “We are talking to Mamunul Haque.” Your safety has been confirmed.
