The attacker struck shortly after noon in front of a rally in the US capital, Washington, DC. The attacker struck shortly after noon on Friday (April 2) at the building’s north entrance, local police said. Two people were also killed in the incident. The entire building was blocked after the attack.

On Friday, a man in a blue car crashed into the barricade at the north entrance of the Congress building. Two security guards at the entrance were injured. Subsequently, the attacker attacked the members in charge of the building’s security with a knife. At that moment, another security guard stopped him and opened fire. Later, the attackers and security personnel were rescued and taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a police officer and the attacker died while being treated at the hospital, several police sources told US media. They also confirmed that the injured members of the security forces were still being treated at the hospital.
