After that, the police arrived at the scene. The girl was rescued after blocking the route of the procession. After that, the police arrested a total of six people, including the torturer.
The girl alleged that a man from a nearby town sexually abused her. When the matter came to light, his family members brutally beat him at first. They then tied him up with the accused and took him through town. The incident has started a heated debate on social media.
State subdivision police officer Dilip Singh Bilwal said two separate cases had been filed in the incident. He said: ‘A rape case has been brought against the 21-year-old defendant. An FIR has also been filed against the minor for hitting and insulting her family.
Cases against the rapist are known to have been brought under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Pokso Act. Meanwhile, several cases have been brought against five family members, including public indecency.
