Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the government is not flexible, just showing patience. The security forces are dealing with extreme patience. But this situation will no longer exist.
He gave this warning in response to a question while speaking to reporters at the secretariat on Sunday.
Hefazat-e-Islam called a strike on Saturday and a strike on Sunday to protest Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh to mark the centenary of Bangabandhu’s birth and the golden anniversary of independence. Massive attacks, vandalism, persecutions and counter persecutions occurred in different parts of the country during the protests. Even on the day of the strike on Sunday, car vandalism, arson, roadblocks and attacks are taking place across the country, including Dhaka. When the forces of order tried to control the situation, they were attacked, at one point there were persecutions between the two sides. The attacks took place at various facilities, including train stations. As of Sunday, ten people have been killed in clashes in Brahmanbaria and four in Chittagong.
The interior minister said orphans and young children were being used as shields. These are the ones who are suffering. Tensions are building by creating rumors and broadcasting live through social media. If they don’t stop, legal action will be taken. These irrational behaviors are not desirable.
