The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has published the list of the first phase of heroic freedom fighters and martyred intellectuals. In the first phase, a list of 1,46,536 freedom fighters and 191 martyred intellectuals was published.
This information was given by the Minister of Liberation War Affairs AQM Mozammel Haque at a press conference organized at the Liberation War Ministry on Thursday.
He said that the names of some people were being investigated. Many of those previously excluded from the list have complained or appealed. They will be excluded for the time being. If the research is removed, those names will be added to the list. However, the number of excluded will not exceed three to four thousand throughout the country.
The preliminary list includes the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders, including 12,573 from the Barisal Division, 30,053 from the Chittagong Division, 36,036 from the Dhaka Division, 10,057 from the Mymensingh Division, 16,730 from the Khulna Division and 13 from Rajshahi Division. 69 thousand, 15 thousand 156 people from Rangpur Division and 10 thousand 264 people from Sylhet Division were placed.
In addition, in the first phase, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has published the list of 191 martyred intellectuals and informed that the remaining list of heroic freedom fighters and martyred intellectuals will be published in phases.
