Aminul Islam Hannan, Japanese alias Hannan, shot dead a businessman named Abdur Rashid (42) in Ainusbagh, south of the capital, on Wednesday afternoon. Police arrested 6 people, including him, in the incident. Locals said Hannan claimed to be a leader of the Awami League and central deputy secretary of the Bangabandhu Sainik League.
Police said a shotgun and pistol were seized from Hannan’s south house (Japanese hut). Hannan’s notoriety has been rising one by one since his arrest.
Various local sources told Jugantar that the Japanese are the epitome of the Hannan Ainusbagh area. He introduced himself as the Central Deputy Secretary of the Bangabandhu Sainik League. Take pictures with different leaders and drag them to the area. He raised his arms in words and showed fear. You have to pay for the construction of houses in the area. It also has control of autorickshaws that operate illegally. Hannan also controlled the area’s garbage trade for the past 10 years. He has been working with an NGO called the Max Social Education Development Foundation, which he owns, to collect household waste.
Recently, Sohail Raza, Vice President of Airport Thana Awami League, had a dispute with people over control of the garbage business. Because of this, there was tension between the two sides. Hannan had shot two others before.
However, Bimanbandar League Vice President Thana Awami, Sohail Reza, denied Jugantar’s allegation of dirty trade. He said the late Abdur Rashid was his cousin. Another cousin Mahmudul Hasan Sujan. After three plots of Hannan’s house, Sujan’s mother-in-law will build Belal’s house. Sujan brought sand to that plot. Hannan then demanded a one-lakh rupee fee to work in the area. But since the tribute was not paid, the people of Hannan, Japan, stole sand from the land last night.
Rajib, Noman, Simant and another man came to ask him about the matter on Wednesday morning and discovered that Hannan’s people had stolen sand. Then when they passed Hannan’s house, 25-30 people from Hannan’s side attacked them.
Hearing the news, I went to the place to ask Hannan, the Japanese. At that time, 4-5 policemen were explaining to our people. When Rashid Hannan and I went to talk, he shot us. When I ran, Abdur Rashid was shot. He alleged that Hannan had changed the name from Ainusbagh to Chandnagar.
According to the locals, Abdur Rashid, the son of Abdul Malek from the Ainusbagh area, used to run an embroidery business. He left the business due to losses. He later oversaw his brother’s rebar cement business. He was involved in the politics of the local Awami League. Hannan introduced himself as deputy general secretary of the central committee of the Bangabandhu Sainik League. He is the general secretary of an organization called the Japan-Bangladesh Human Rights Organization.
Following the death of Anisul Haque, former Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, she was elected Councilor for District 47 during the by-elections.
Biplob Kumar Goswami, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dakshin Khan Area, Uttara Division, said the incident took place over a dispute over the theft of sand.
He said that a relative of Abdur Rashid brought construction materials to build the house. Last night the Japanese Hannan people stole sand from there. In the morning, Abdur Rashid and his relatives came to ask the Japanese Hannan about the matter. At one point in the discussion, Abdur Rashid was shot by a Japanese Hannan shotgun. Casey was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
He said that people in the area don’t like Japanese Hannan. It is known in the area as Signboard Hannan or Poster Hannan.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of the Uttara Division. Shahidullah said that Abdur Rashid had been arguing with Abdul Hannan for a long time. Because of this, there were fights and clashes with Hannan in front of Abdur Rashid’s home on Wednesday.
A search at Hannan’s home yielded a shotgun and a pistol. Abdur Rashid’s body has been sent to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The complaints of the locals against Hannan are endless. Mozammel Patwari, an owner, complained to Jugantar that he owned a four-story house at 191 Holding in Ainusbagh. Hannan, a Japanese man, broke into a store in front of his house a year ago. The walls of his house were also demolished.
He said Hannan, a Japanese man, forcibly evicted the tenants from his tin house at Holding No. 206. Not only that, the house’s electricity, water and gas connections have been cut off. “I have complained to the RAB about this,” he said.
