Bangladesh and Bhutan could explore new areas of cooperation, including information and communication technology (IT), agriculture, horticulture, tourism and fishing, to increase trade and investment between the two countries.

The president told foreign guests that the two countries have excellent cooperation in the areas of trade and commerce, connectivity, education, cultural exchange, people-to-people communication, and tourism. He said the two countries could explore new areas of cooperation, including ICT, agriculture, horticulture and fisheries.

President Abdul Hamid said that Bhutan is a very loyal friend of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has excellent bilateral relations with Bhutan and these relations are increasing day by day.
President Abdul Hamid thanked the Prime Minister of Bhutan for attending the two festivals of Bangladesh, the Golden Jubilee of Independence of Bangladesh and the centenary of the birth of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bhutan Prime Minister Shering arrived in Dhaka yesterday morning on a three-day official visit to Bangladesh to attend two historical festivals.
President Abdul Hamid thanked the government and people of Bhutan for organizing various programs in Bhutan on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the centenary of the birth of the nation’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The festival is celebrated in the country by lighting thousands of lamps and issuing commemorative stamps.
Before the formal bilateral meeting, Bhutan Prime Minister Shering presented a commemorative stamp to President Abdul Hamid.
