Prime Minister Lotte Shering is not new to Dhaka at all. The Prime Minister of Bhutan visited the National Monument in Savar from the airport. There he paid tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the liberation war. After returning to Dhaka, he paid tribute to the memory of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum. After meeting him at the Intercontinental Hotel in the afternoon, the foreign minister told reporters that connectivity was also discussed with the Prime Minister of Bhutan. They are interested in using the waterways of this country.
Speaking with the Prime Minister of Bhutan about increasing people-to-people contacts, the Foreign Minister said: “We are increasing people-to-people contacts. We are thinking, we can start a direct flight from Dhaka to Thimphu. They (Bhutan) prefer the railways. We have to do some experimentation with Haldibari to Chilahati. ‘
The Foreign Minister referred to the arrival of the Prime Minister of Bhutan and his entourage in Bangladesh as a major event during the Kavid epidemic. Despite these restrictions, they have flown in to attend the celebrations in Bangladesh.
