Red Carpet Reception for President of Nepal Vidya Devi

The President of Nepal, Vidya Devi Bhandari, arrived in Dhaka this morning on a two-day official visit. At this point they gave him a reception on the red carpet.

This is the first visit of the Nepalese President to Dhaka. He is the third world leader to attend the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the centennial celebrations of the birth of the nation’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At the airport, a smart contingent from the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force provided the honor guard with 21 rounds of artillery in honor of the President of Nepal.

President Abdul Hamid and the President of Nepal stayed for temporary days and received the state salute. At this time the national anthems of the two countries were played.

The state guest visited the invited guard and then the two presidents introduced themselves to the delegations from their respective countries.

The President of Nepal is accompanied by his daughter Usha Kiran Bhandari, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gawali and the concerned secretaries and senior officials of the Government of Nepal.

From the airport, the President of Nepal will visit the National Monument in Savar, where he will pay a profound tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the Bangladesh Liberation War.

Vidya Devi will sign the guestbook there and plant saplings.

You will then visit the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi No. 32 and pay tribute to the portrait of the Father of the Nation and the greatest Bengali of all time, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In the afternoon, the President of Nepal will participate in the National Parade Plaza in Tejgaon as the guest of honor. Here, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will welcome you.

According to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Bhandari will issue a statement on the occasion of the centenary of Bangabandhu’s birth.
