Deputy Police Inspector (SI) Hasan Ali, 26, committed suicide by climbing on the roof of the police station building and shooting himself in the head with his pistol. On Sunday (March 21) morning, his colleagues found his body on the roof of the Ataikula Thana building in Pabna.
His colleagues believe the incident took place on Sunday morning. Hasan Ali is the son of Jabbar Biswas from Keshabpur village in Baliadangi, Jessore. He was not married.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Ataikula Police Station, Kamrul Islam, said Hasan joined the Ataikula Police Station on February 8. He was the son of a poor family. He had financial difficulties. Police believe that he may commit suicide due to these frustrations.
Pabna’s additional police superintendent Masud Alam said it could not be immediately confirmed how or why he committed suicide. However, the matter may be family or personal.
He said the police forensic team has left. An investigation on his body will be reported after the team arrives. After that autopsy it will be fixed.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Ataikula Police Station, Kamrul Islam, said that his janaza would take place at the Pabna police line at night. Arrangements will then be made to send the body to his village house. All legal procedures will be completed before that date.
The OC further said that he was speaking on the roof of the police station building before committing suicide. Attempts are being made to discover the true cause of his suicide. Some signs have already been found. It will be possible to tell the details after confirming those matters.
