On the eve of Modi’s visit to Dhaka, the Indira Gandhi Cultural Center in Dhaka is providing 100 Mujib coats made from traditional Indian khadi for his entourage based on orders he placed himself. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend the centenary celebrations of Bangabandhu’s birth.

A press release issued by the Ministry of Small and Medium Industries of India said that the khadi fabrics have been embroidered with the India Khadi logo and black khadi thread fabric covers have also been made for the jackets.

KVIC President Vinai Kumar Saxena said that the Mujib coat has historical significance in Bangladesh and it is a pride to manufacture the Khadir Mujib jacket. During Modi’s visit to Bangladesh, Khadir’s Mujib Kot will go to Bangladesh. Narendra Modi is the Khadir brand ambassador.

The Mujib coat is very popular in Bangladesh. The Mujib coat symbolizes the ideals of the great Bangladeshi leader Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Its popularity is increasing daily among the youth of Bangladesh.

Saxena added that the Mujib coat, made from the traditional khadi fabric of India, has the historical and cultural significance of the centenary of Mujib’s birth.
