A schoolgirl named Maya Akhter Jaya (15), who was kidnapped in Sirajganj, was rescued after 12 hours. It has been reported that he committed suicide by hanging himself after returning home.
Sadar police recovered the body of the city’s Mahmudpur Mahalla schoolgirl on Friday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Maya Akhter Jaya, daughter of local Sharif Sheikh.
According to her relatives, the schoolgirl decided to commit suicide out of shame, since she was kidnapped and raped by talented local teenagers.
Relatives of the slain schoolgirl, including her father Sharif Sheikh and uncle Farid Sheikh, said 18-year-old Jim, Abdul Aziz’s son from the same mahalla, had been harassing Jaya in various ways for two years. His parents repeatedly complained about this.
But it did not bring any benefit. At the same time, on Wednesday an engagement was made with the son of one of her relatives. But the talented gym called the police and stopped the participation process.
The next day, Jiban, son of the late Shahin of Mahmudpur Mahalla, Antar, son of Fani, Rumon, son of Hanif, and Qayyum Jaya, son of Chattar of Char Raipur Mahalla, were forcibly taken on a motorcycle from the front of the home on Thursday afternoon.
The youth then took Jaya home around 12 noon on Friday. After the incident, Jaya entered the kitchen, locked the door from the inside, and committed suicide by hanging herself with a fan. Later, his relatives broke down the door and entered the house and found his body and reported it to the police.
Sadar OC Bahauddin Farooqui Police Station said the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Sirajganj Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital for autopsy. The victim’s father filed a UD case Friday afternoon.
