A 40-year-old man died after a live fish got stuck in his throat at the Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur. The accident occurred at noon on Friday (March 19) at the home of Doctor Bojendra in the village of Enayetpur in the municipality of Upazila. He was later rescued and taken to the Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex. The doctor at this hospital saw his condition deteriorating and sent him to Comilla Medical College Hospital. But Shimul died on the way.
Maqsood, a local resident, said Shimul died when he was taken to hospital after the fish got stuck in his throat. Shimul used to work in a salon at the local laundry market.
