Two viral images on social networks Facebook. A young man wearing a lungi-genji was seen standing at the immigration office at the airport and the young man was sitting on the plane seat just after that lungi-genji.
Legend says, still flying in the sky. I am currently over the Atlantic Ocean. It will take another 3 hours to get to New York.
It went viral after I posted two images on a Facebook page called ‘Traffic Alert BD’ on Thursday.
That post was tagged for a young man named Jewel Mia.
Jewel is known to be the young man in lungi-genji whose image has gone viral. Jewel’s house is in Bahubal upazila de Habiganj.
He arrived in the country last February. He returned to the United States on March 16 after a stay of about a month.
Among the thousands of youth leaders from the 193 member countries of the United Nations, 33 are elected as members of the Youth Subcommittee each year. For 2017, Bangladeshi American Jewel Mia was selected as one of them.
The ‘Traffic Alert BD’ post has been flooded with comments. Many people from far away America have praised Jewel for highlighting Bangladeshi culture and dress in this way.
Many have criticized the issue for being viral.
