The body of the BNP standing committee member, lawyer Moudud Ahmed, has been buried along with his parents. The veteran politician was buried alongside his parents in the family cemetery after the last janaza in front of his Manikpur Companyganj residence on Friday (March 19) at 5.30pm.
Earlier, a janaza was held in front of the BNP headquarters at 11 am for the second sentence of the eminent lawyer. The third janaza was held at the Kabirhat Government College campus in Noakhali at 2.30 pm and the janaza was held at the Basurhat Companyganj Government Mujib College campus at 4 pm.
Moudud Ahmed’s body was buried in the Shaheed Minar center around 9 am out of respect for people from all walks of life. Various political parties, including BNP, Nagarik Oikya, Jagpa, NDP and the common people, paid tribute to the body of Moudud Ahmed.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Senior Vice President General (retired) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Advisor to President Abdus Salam, Aman Ullah Aman, Habibur Rahman Habib, Deputy Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon Lutfar Rahman, BNP Advertising Secretary Shahiddin Chowdhury Annie , Executive Committee Member Nazim Uddin Alam, Muktijoddha Dal Chairman Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, General Secretary Sadek Khan, Jatiya Party Chairman Mustafa Jamal Haider and others.
Veteran politician Moudud Ahmed breathed his last while undergoing treatment in Singapore at 7.30pm Bangladesh time on Tuesday. He was 61 years old at the time of his death. His body was taken home on a Bangladesh Airlines flight on Thursday night.
