Central Hefazat-e-Islam leaders arrived by helicopter to attend Shane Risalat’s conference at Sunamganj’s Dirai upazila. When the helicopter landed in the village of Dirai Majlispur, a group of young people ran in front of the helicopter to take selfies.
Hefazat-e-Islam Central Deputy General Secretary Allama Mamunul Haque jumped out of the helicopter. As the youth proceeded to take selfies with him, he chased away the youths who came to take selfies with sticks from the volunteers.
Later, he got angry and said in front of everyone: ‘I was late today to speak about Islam. I didn’t come to take a selfie. In Bangladesh, everyone is busy with TickTock, Selfie and Facebook Live. Why brother? Do you have a job other than that? Do you have a problem with having to take selfies everywhere to get likes?
Amir Allama Junaid Ahmad Babungari from Hefazat-e-Islam flew to Dirai Upazila from Sunamganj by helicopter to attend Shane Risalat’s lecture.
He was accompanied by Naib Amir Allama Nurul Islam Khan, Deputy Secretary General Junaid Al-Habib, Deputy Secretary General Allama Mamunul Haque, Deputy Secretary General Nasir Uddin Munir and other central leaders of Hifazat-e-Islam. After disembarking from the helicopter, a team of 600 volunteers escorted them to safety.
