The craftsman Yusuf built the exceptional ship on the occasion of the Mujib Year and the Golden Jubilee of Independence. He wants to gift the boat to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Yusuf named the ship Jaldanga Mujib Paribahan. About 15 lakh rupees have been spent for its construction. The 24-seat transport has a steering wheel like a bus and two propellers to run on water.
On the centenary of the birth of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Yusuf will leave the Charkalakopa village of Ramgati for Dhaka on March 17 with an amphibious boat. People from different areas crowd to see the amphibious boat.
Artisan Yusuf is the son of Abul Kalam from Purbachar Kalakopa village in Charporagachha junction of Ramgati upazila.
The four-wheeled ship is known to be decorated with the red-green color of the national flag. There are also photographs of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. A ladder in the shape of an airplane has been built to board the ship. It also has gear, front camera, headlights, indicators, AC fan, horn, and meter board. There is also a marquee with a beautiful design.
Said the shipbuilder. Yusuf said that Jaldanga Mujib Paribahan was a symbol of his love for Bangabandhu. He has built this ship for three years at a cost of around 1.5 million Tk. He will depart for Dhaka on March 17 with the passengers to present the gift to the Prime Minister by road. His strong wish is for the Prime Minister to get on his boat or touch him at least once.
In this regard, Ramgati Upazila Nirbahi’s officer Abdul Momin said, Yusuf has come to me. Show images of the ship. The ship will be shown to the deputy commissioner on the 18th. If the ship is suitable for dispatch to the Prime Minister, we will cooperate with him.
