A case has been brought against ‘Lady Kishore gang leader’ Tahsina Simi under the Digital Safety Act for beating a teenager in Chittagong. Wasika Akhter, a victim of the beating, presented the case at the Padamientos police station on Saturday night.
Another person named Meherul Islam, an associate of SIMI, has been charged in the case.
Meanwhile, Judge Hossain Mohammad Reza Simi of the Metropolitan Magistrates Court 2 granted a three-day pre-trial detention after the police requested a five-day pre-trial detention.
Police further said that a video went viral via social media on Saturday. The one-minute video shows two teenagers and a teenage boy talking while standing and sitting near the beach in Paienen.
The standing teenager addresses her son friend in the vernacular of Chittagong and says, “Beta took a knife to kill me that day.” The teenager, who was sitting in the north, raised her cheek and said: ‘You hit me, you hit me. I told him not to kill.
At that moment, Simi’s colleague and boyfriend came back and hit the girl on the head and said, “If you kill me, you will die like this.”
The victim said: ‘Brother, please. But the teenager did not listen to her and started hitting her on the head and face saying ‘why kill him’ and kept saying ‘you already know me’.
The teenager standing on a stage was heard saying, ‘If I want to, you can’t get out of here alive. How dare you take a knife that day? You can’t go if I want to.
At that moment, the abused teenager took her hand and pleaded with her, but she did not give up. In response, the hitting teen is heard saying, ‘You know, if I say so, your body will be thrown here.’
Simi was detained for questioning by a police team led by the Paienen SI Monirul Islam Police Station on Saturday night after the video, which went viral on social media.
The Paienen SI Monirul Islam police station told Jugantar: “The victim brought a case against Simi on Saturday night. He (Simi) was sent to court on Sunday with a request for a five-day pre-trial detention, showing his arrest in the case. The court granted the request for preventive detention for three days. In addition, a police operation is underway to arrest Simi’s accomplice and boyfriend, Meherul.
