Residents of the capital have been asked to leave in time to reach their destination from March 16 to 26. The request was made by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday (March 14).

The DMP said that the centenary of the birth of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of Independence will be celebrated from March 18 to 26. Foreign heads of state and invited guests will participate in the program organized on this occasion.

The request was made to the inhabitants of the city to maintain order and avoid traffic jams during the stay of the VVIPs.

The DMP further said that several roads in the capital have been narrowed due to extensive development activities. As a result, most of the roads have traffic problems. Road traffic may be affected during the upcoming festival for foreign guests. This can cause temporary problems in traffic management.

Taking into account the traffic congestion, the DMP asks the inhabitants of the city to leave their respective destinations and participate in various tests a little before the scheduled time.
