Coronavirus: 1159 patients identified in one day, maximum in two and a half months

This number of patients identified daily is the highest in the last two and a half months. Previously, the Health Department had reported the identification of more patients than on December 30 of last year. That day a total of 1,235 new patients were identified.

And this number of deaths in one day is also the highest in the last seven weeks. Earlier, on January 24, 20 people were reported to have died.

As the infection continued to rise, the daily detection rate also surpassed 6 percent for the first time since Jan.4, compared to testing. According to the Health Department, the detection rate was 8.15 percent compared to the previous day.

As of Sunday morning, the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country increased to 5.56,395, as 1,014 people were infected. And the death toll from coronavirus has risen to 6,545 in the country, with 18 people dying in the last day.

According to the Health Department, another 1,365 patients in home and hospital treatment have recovered in the last day. So far, the total number of healthy patients has risen to 5 lakh 11,795 people.

A year after the first coronavirus case was detected in Bangladesh on March 8 last year, the number of patients identified on March 8 last year exceeded five and a half million. Of these, 4,019 patients with Kovid-19 were identified on July 2 of last year, which is the highest in a single day.

On March 17 of last year, 10 days after the identification of the first patient, the Department of Health confirmed the first death report in the country. On March 11 of this year it exceeded eight thousand five hundred. Of these, 84 deaths were reported on June 30 last year, the highest in a single day.
