A press release signed by Sufi Abdullahil Maruf, the ministry’s top information official, said on Saturday that the video, which went viral on Facebook, had been “edited.”
Highlighting the ‘real facts’, the statement said that the Minister of Liberation War Affairs had taken the coronavirus vaccine on February 16 in the Clinic Secretariat building. Journalists collected photos and videos at the time. However, due to lack of space in the vaccination room, some of the journalists present were unable to take photos and videos.
“Later, at the request of the cameramen, the minister gave them the opportunity to take photographs and videos after the vaccination.”
The ministry said the video, which was circulated on social media, was also seen by AQM Minister Mozammel Haque.
“The propaganda that the minister is not vaccinated by intentionally editing the video is part of the false propaganda of the anti-independence movement against the Minister of Liberation War Affairs and the government,” he said.
The statement quoted the minister as saying that legal action would be taken against those involved in such false propaganda by executing the video.
The press release also provided a link to the ‘real video’ of the vaccination minister.
