But in the end, Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury Koyes, MP for Sylhet-3 and central secretary general of the Sheikh Russell National Council for Children and Adolescents, died of coronavirus.
He died at the United Hospital in the capital around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. He was vaccinated against the coronavirus on February 10. I was 6 years old. He is survived by his wife, a son, and many admirers. Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury’s personal assistant Julhas Ahmed said: “He was admitted to United Hospital on the night of March 6 (Sunday). The next morning, he gave samples for the corona test. In the afternoon the results are positive. He was then taken to ventilation as his physical condition deteriorated. He died at 2:40 pm today (Thursday) while he was there.
According to family sources, the body of Deputy Koyes will be taken to Fenchuganj by helicopter at 11 am on Friday. His janaza will be held on the grounds of the local Qasim Ali high school at 5pm.
Koyes, a deputy elected more than once, was the vice president of the Awami League of the Sylhet district. He was spoken of through various activities in his long political life. He was the first to raise the bill for the trial of war criminals in Parliament. On January 29, 2009, its resolution was passed unanimously in Parliament.
At the beginning of the Corona epidemic, Mahmud Us Samad Koyes came to the discussion separately in the country, including his own area. Mahmoud Us Samad walked in the opposite direction as most of the people’s representatives wrapped themselves within the four walls at the beginning of Corona’s horror. A few days before the general holiday was declared on March 22 last year, he moved from Dhaka to his parliamentary constituency and stayed there to work for the poor and defenseless. He not only distributed government relief aid, but also distributed a large amount of relief on his own initiative to remote villages in the three upazilas in his constituency.
He remains directly involved in various activities that include advising the local administration and monitoring the health system throughout the day. The Vedic community, from drivers to tea workers, extends a helping hand to anyone in need. Also, many expats from the Fenchuganj area were unable to send money to the country at the time, so he called them on their mobile phone number and secretly sent food to the homes of expats who wanted help.
Corona started coming and going to Dhaka when the situation improved a bit, but he stayed in the area most of the time. The last time he came to Sylhet was at the end of February and from the beginning of March until March 5 he participated in various programs in the parliamentary constituency every day. Helal Chowdhury was present as the main guest at the award distribution ceremony after the final of the soccer tournament organized by the Jalalpur Raikhail Youth Social Welfare Association in Dakshin Surma Upazila de Sylhet on March 5.
