Zakia Tabassum Jui, a member of the Dinajpur District Bar Association and a deputy from the reserved seat, was admitted to hospital about 30 hours after the clash between the two groups.
He was admitted to Dinajpur General Hospital around 8:30 pm on Friday.
Earlier in the evening, the injured lawyer Sarwar Ahmed Babu filed a lawsuit against 19 people, including the president and general secretary of the district bar association.
The defendants in the case are: Adv. Mazharul Islam Sarkar, Secretary General Saiful Islam, Shamsur Rahman Parvez, Hazrat Ali Belal, Khairat Ali, Mahfuzur Rahman Bipul, Mahfuz Ali, Kabir Bin Golam Charlie, Animesh Chandra Roy, Sifat Rahman Limon, Alal., Helal Farooq, Shaon, Akbar, Raja, Nabi, Rabiul Islam Robi, Khokon and 19 others.
Saiful Islam, general secretary of the district bar association, went to the hospital to see the deputy at 12pm on Friday night. He said he was hit on the head in a confrontation in front of the Bar Association last Thursday. Although he did not realize the matter at the time, the headache increased as time passed. Unable to bear the excruciating pain, he was admitted to the hospital.
Parvez Sohail Rana, a residential medical officer at Dinajpur General Hospital, said that he himself was admitted to the hospital because he felt physically ill. He suffered head and leg injuries. He also had severe headaches. However, the cause of the injury could have been known if the CT scan of the skin had been performed in the hospital. But before that he was transferred to Dhaka Hospital.
Kotwali OC Mozaffar Hossain Police Station said a case had been registered against 19 people in connection with the clash. The case was presented by lawyer Sarwar Ahmed Babu.
It is worth mentioning that the general meeting of the executive committee of the Dinajpur District Bar Association began at 11 am last Thursday with nine agendas.
Later, when the leaders of the old committee of the association asked to close the meeting, at one point clashes broke out between the two parties. 15 people were injured.
