Strong blow … electric shock … | The Daily Star Bangla

If you come to me, you will smell a pus smell.

Ahmed Kabir, a teenager or a teenage cartoonist, said in a word about the horrors of torture.

Describing the unspeakable torture, he told The Daily Star: ‘The day before yesterday, the prison officer had taken pictures of my feet. The Director General of Prisons met with me and said: “You will be released in two days. Get out there and get your ears treated.

“I have told the prison doctor many times to take me for treatment. I have been told that the detainees cannot be removed at this time.

‘They gave me antibiotics and pain killers. They did not work.

‘They picked me up on May 2. About an hour before Iftar. So I was sleeping. Suddenly, a loud noise at the door woke me up. As soon as he opened the door, 18 people dressed in white entered the room. Four of them had small arms.

They threatened to discover his identity. One said, his name is Jasim. They told me to wear shirt pants instead of my clothes as I was wearing lungi. Why? – When asked, Jasim said, “Do what I tell you.”

‘We were in the room where the computers and the art were. Jasim lit a cigarette. He finished his cigarette and dropped the filter on the floor. I forbade him to bend over and remove the filter from the floor, and I saw a packet of red tablets and a firearm being pulled out and placed in my book slot.

I screamed and grabbed his hand. He yanked me away. I said you can’t do that. I wanted to know if they have any court orders.

Jasim heard my screams and told his men to stop. He also told me to get out of there. I refuse to go out. I was worried they would leave more at home.

“What is the reason for all this? – When asked, they said, you can find out the reason after getting in the car.”

Get out there and see, a seizure list is being signed with two new people. They put a monkey cap on me. Covered from my mouth to my neck. Before getting in the car, they handcuffed me on the stairs.

Before putting on the monkey cap, I saw a gray V-six in front of me. Another flag is gasoline. It is possible that “Dhaka Metro S-1612” was written on one’s license plate. All the cars had tinted windows.

‘My face is covered before I get in the car. So I can’t say which car they picked me up from. But it could be V-Six. ‘

When asked where they were being taken, they said: “Everything will be reported.” “If you cooperate with us, we will also cooperate with you.”

Once in the car they left the song. The sound gives the maximum. Listen to songs in Hindi. Listen to the songs of SD Rubel. It was like they were listening to loud music because no one outside could hear me screaming.

“I was in the car for about 40 minutes. They did not collide with the car. But every time I asked them why they arrested me, they said, “Don’t talk so much.”

‘When the car stopped at a spot on the road, I realized that people were breaking their fast. While holding the handcuffs, I was able to lift the lid with the index finger of both hands.

Someone came out of a house. He got in the car. I didn’t see his face. I can see moccasin shoes on his feet. One sat in the seat across from me. Cell phone in hand. I can see the phone screen with a little gap. It looked like a map on the screen. A black text box with the number was seen. He was moving the numbers on the screen with his finger.

After Iftar, the car started moving again. He told me to get out when the car stopped. I’m on my way out. I stumbled and fell. They dragged me into the room.

‘I saw three plastic chairs in the room where they led me through the gap in the monkey cap. The tiles in the room looked old and damp. There was an air-conditioned room next door. Cold air was coming from there. My hand was tied in front. Someone came and tied him behind his back.

‘I have diabetes. I can’t go without food for a long time. I wanted food. Nobody answered.

‘After a while they took me to another room. The room was a bit far. They put me in a hard chair. There was something on the handle and on the legs of the chair. One opened my eyes and said in English: “If you look back, they will kill you.” There seemed to be between 10 and 12 people there. ‘

‘They showed a cartoon on the projector screen. I drew mother nature with pictures from different countries in that cartoon. They wanted to know if he had drawn the prime minister.

‘I said no. It is a conceptual cartoon about nature. To free the world from the epidemic. ‘

“They showed one cartoon after another and asked if the female figures were the prime minister and the male figures were the fathers of the nation.”

So I was speaking angrily. I said, looking at the cartoons, so it seems? Then they hit me on the leg with a thick stick. The clubhead had a steel pommel. I had four more clubs in front of me. ‘

“Someone got up and hit me hard on both sides of the head with their hand.”

The teenager felt severe pain in his ear. The teenager said his eardrum ruptured at that time.

Thus, the interrogation went on for some time. Every time they asked a question, the teenager did not answer directly. And then he was dying.

“ The hat went off and also hit the back of my neck. ”

The teenager was hit on the legs, back and head.

“They asked me for passwords to my email and social media accounts,” he said. But then I couldn’t hear anything in my right ear. Blood was coming out of the ears. Then they wrote to me and told me what to do. I also reported in writing.

They continued to interrogate the teenager. I wanted to know about the teenager’s post on the Facebook page called ‘I am Bangladeshi’. The Swedish-Bangladeshi journalist Tasnim Khalil, the Hungarian businessman Sayer Zulkarnain and the German blogger Asif Mohiuddin wanted to know how he knew her.

The teenager added that he was questioned about radical extremists and asked if he was involved in the murders of bloggers.

“I told them that my friends were among those who had been attacked and killed,” he said.

They kept me in that room for four or five hours. I once heard the call to prayer. I sneezed at the strong smell of gasoline. I could hear the sound of many cars.

Once the teenager told them that he needed to go to the bathroom, otherwise the clothes would be ruined.

‘The bathroom was not dirty, there was no stench. But there was a lot of blood on the ground. He was still blindfolded. But in that condition I could see under the clothes, ‘said the teenager.

He asked to open his eyes while using the bathroom. However, someone stabbed him in the back with a stick and told him to walk upright and urinate.

After a while, they took him back to that first room.

The teenager said: ‘I was in severe pain. Blood flowed through the nose and ears. I decided to go out. I got up and opened the door. At that moment two men arrived. They said they would kill him if he moved. They said nothing has been done with me yet.

‘In the morning a man came to the room and gave me some stale Polish meat to eat. A few hours later, he was taken back to the interrogation room. There was question after question, and torture.

‘I forgot the day-to-day calculation. Twice fed. Once polish spoiled, again something in a package. However, I was unable to eat anything due to severe pain in my jaw. ”

At one point in the night, the teenager was taken to the RIL-3 office in Khilgaon.

Kishore said: ‘As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw the camera flash. It was then that I saw Mushtaq Ahmed (the writer Mushtaq Ahmed died in prison on February 25). Mushtaq told me, “Be proud, man! You have done nothing wrong. “

‘There was a strong stench of urine coming from Mushtaq’s body. He was also arrested a few days ago. Many have been beaten, their genitals have received electric shocks. There were many newspapers on the floor. I told him to clean his body with them. She took off her underwear and threw it away. I saw that he had feces and urine. He said he had left the stool in his pants during the torture, ‘said the teenager.

A deputy superintendent came to question us.

The teenager said, ‘I told you to go to the bathroom. I requested that they take me to the clean bathroom. An officer took me to his bathroom for use. He told another to clean the blood from my ears. They also gave me tea and cookies.

They took us both to the Ramna police station in the morning. The police station duty officer wanted to know if he was tortured or not. I said yes. But, Mushtaq stopped me. He said, don’t tell the truth. If I tell the truth, they will torture me more. ‘

“They took us to court a few hours later. Then the story of my 10-month long incarceration began. ‘
