The tafsir mahfil of the Deputy Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam Mamunul Haque in Shayestaganj of Habiganj has attracted a large number of faithful.
He began his keynote address on the second day of the seventh Tafsirul Quran conference on Wednesday (February 24) at 11:30 pm at the Shahi Eidgah ground in Puranbazar of the upazila.
Thousands of people began gathering on the Eidgah ground since afternoon to hear his statement. After Mamunul Haque took the stage, traffic on Shayestaganj-Habiganj road was stopped to control the influx of devotees. Long lines of vehicles can be seen on both sides of the road.
There was a lot of curiosity about his arrival in Shayestaganj. The administration allowed him to address the meeting on the condition that he make no anti-government comments, no sculpture talk, and no provocative statement after several swings. It was learned that he did not make any provocative speech at the meeting.
In this regard, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of Shayestaganj Police Station Ajay Chandra Dev said that Maulana Mamunul Haque did not make any statement against the government in the tafsir mahfil. However, the administration is closely monitoring the public order situation so that it does not deteriorate.
