The Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh, has expressed his deep sorrow over the death of medal-winning actor Ekushey ATM Shamsuzzaman.

In a message of condolence today (Saturday), the mayor of DSCC said: ‘ATM Shamsuzzaman is a pioneer in developing non-community awareness in Bangladesh. ATM Shamsuzzaman has gradually become a unique organization due to its acting prowess. His departure is an irreparable loss to the Bengali cultural scene.

Mayor Tapas said: “ATM Shamsuzzaman has left a fine mark of acting style in his six decade long career. In the midst of your creative work, you will live forever in the hearts of the people of this country.

Barrister Tapas prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the grieving family members.

ATM Shamsuzzaman passed away at his Sutrapur residence in the capital on Saturday (February 20) at 9:08 am.

Earlier on Wednesday (February 18) morning, ATM Shamsuzzaman was admitted to Azgar Ali Hospital in Old Dhaka. His oxygen level was low. Dr. hospital. The popular actor was under the supervision of Ataur Rahman Khan.

ATM Shamsuzzaman made his film debut in 1975 as an actor. In 1986, he rose to fame playing the role of Khal in filmmaker Amjad Hossain’s ‘Nayanamani’. This veteran actor is still happy with the audience.
