The Ministry of Education has ordered to pay an updated land development tax, including the property registration of all private educational institutions (schools and colleges) at the secondary and upper secondary level of the country to prevent hoarding and embezzlement of properties. The directive was issued by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education last Thursday (February 11) to the Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education.
The order said that despite obtaining permission to establish various educational institutions, teaching and academic recognition, the institution’s named land has not yet been registered. Complications are being created in several cases by non-registration and rejection of deposits and unwanted cases arise. Due to the lack of names, there is a danger that the educational institution land will be ruined through some unscrupulous circles. It is necessary to keep a file updating the amount of land, details, ledger, nomenclature and deposit, presentation of territorial development tax, property deed and documents of actual possession of the respective educational institutions.
The order further stated that in order not to invade the field of educational institutions and avoid future complications, the directors of all educational institutions have been instructed to keep the information in a register by paying an updated territorial development tax, including the appointment and deposit of the named lands of their respective institutions.
At the same time, the order ordered the Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education to keep a complete list of land and other movable and immovable property of the educational institution centrally in the Department of Secondary and Higher Education and the Department of Education.
