SI Saiful Islam, the investigating officer on the case, presented Shahnaz at the Dhaka Magistrates Court on Friday.

Police found the body of Sajeeb Hasan, 33, on the fourth floor of a house on KM Das Lane Thursday afternoon. Three pieces of the body were on the floor of the house and two pieces were in the toilet.
Shahnaz, 48, was arrested from there and police went to the house to look for him.
When Shahnaz left home last Tuesday and did not return, her husband filed a general diary at the Wari police station.
After recovering Sajib’s body, his relative Nazrul Islam filed a murder case at the Wari police station. Shahnaz was the only defendant there.
According to the police, Shahnaz had a love affair with Sajib. That is why Shahnaz fled her husband’s house three days ago with money and gold ornaments and went to Sajib’s house.
After the GD, the police tracked down Shahnaz’s mobile phone and went to Sajib’s home. In addition to finding Shahnaz there, Sajib’s body was also found.
Deputy Police Commissioner Iftekhar Alam said Thursday, “Shahnaz can understand by staying with Sajib that Sajib has a relationship with other girls and that Sajib’s main purpose is money and gold ornaments.”
Based on information obtained from Shahnaz during preliminary questioning, he said that the murder took place during a fight Thursday morning.
He said that at first he had a fight with Sajib, then Sajib stabbed him. Later in the fray, the knife fell into Shahnaz’s hand. Then he stabbed Sajib and died. “
Shahnaz later confessed to cutting Sajib’s body into five pieces with a kitchen utensil, the police officer said. He said Shahnaz also had cuts on his hand.
Sajib lived alone in that one-room house. Sajib worked in handicrafts and sold a transportation ticket. His home is in Harinakunda, Jhenaidah.
Police say Shahnaz had been in love with Sajib for five years. Sajib rented the house in Swamibagh showing her as his wife.
