Abdul Mannan Akand, chairman of the Bogra Paribahan Malik Sramik Joint Committee, said they had “called off” the strike on Wednesday afternoon after they were assured that they would accept their demands.

The Bogra Motor Owners Association office was vandalized and set on fire Tuesday night. An interdistrict bus strike was called since Wednesday morning in protest. But in the afternoon the bus was seen running again.

The Bogra bus terminal, Banani, in the Tin Mata area was seen around 7 pm.

Abdul Mannan Akand said: “Our demand was to arrest Munjurul Alam Mohan, the convener of the former group of car owners and deputy general secretary of the district Awami League, and bring a case against him. The police have taken over the case. Also, I have postponed the strike after making sure of his arrest. We are monitoring. If the demand is not met, I will make a difficult decision later. “

Sadar OC Humayun Kabir Police Station said there were three cases of vandalism and arson.

He said 14 people have been arrested so far in the incident. Nine of them have been arrested in the police case and five in the case of Munjurul Alam Mohan’s brother, Mashiul Alam, and sent to jail.
