Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque has said that after Bangabandhu’s assassination, Ziaur Rahman helped self-confessed killers go abroad and promoted them to higher positions. By changing the country’s constitution, Shah Aziz formed his own cabinet with freedom fighters, including Abdul Alim.
AQM Mozammel Haque said, Mushtaq-Zia, Tarato was not punished. No death sentence is passed in court. If someone dies and is charged, the court excludes him and rules on the others.
He said this in response to several questions from journalists after the unveiling of plaques with the names of important freedom fighters and eminent persons from the Kaliakair municipality in Chandra Trimor on Kalampur Road in Gazipur on Wednesday morning.

The certificates and honors of four of them have been canceled and the names of Khandaker Mushtaq, Ziaur Rahman and many others have appeared at the same meeting along with the documentary evidence related to the murder of Bangabandhu. We have formed a subcommittee to present at the next meeting who was involved in the murder of Bangabandhu and what is the documentary evidence. The honorary titles they possess will be revoked based on documentary evidence. There are examples of that not only in Bangladesh but also abroad. These decisions are not for political reasons.
He added that there are many cases in the world where honorary titles have been revoked for his actions. Ziaur Rahman, Khandaker Mushtaq, Mahbub Alam Chashi and many others have been named, what is their role? What is the implication in the murder of Bangabandhu?
