Palashbari OC Police Station (investigation) Matiur Rahman said the incident took place in Bengulia village in the Kishoregari union of the Upazila on Friday night.

He killed Anshar Ali (50), the people said. He was the son-in-law of Chan Miah’s daughter and Azgar Ali’s son from Sholagari village in Pirganj upazila of neighboring Rangpur district.

The OC said: “Anshar Ali, the husband of Hamida Begum, daughter of Chan Mia, has been living in his father-in-law’s house as a domestic worker since their marriage. On Friday night, the in-laws began arguing over family matters.

“At one point, Chan Mia started hitting Anshar Ali on the chest and abdomen at random. He was seriously injured and fell to the ground.”

Later, his relatives rescued him and admitted him to the Palashbari Upazila Health Complex. Matiur said Anshar died while undergoing treatment there.

The victim’s wife, Hamida Begum, said that her husband and children worked as laborers in Dhaka; They came home recently.

“My father demanded money from my husband to give me a new house. Not receiving the money, the father beat him. That’s why my husband died. “

The victim’s wife filed a murder case at the police station, police said.
