A total of 21 people are receiving Ekushey Padak this year for their contribution in different fields of the country, including six people of art, three soldiers of language, three freedom fighters, three writers, one in journalism, research, economics and photography. Six people get entertainment.
This year, Papia Sarwar will receive Ekushey Padak in music, Raisul Islam Asad and Sujata Azim will receive honors for acting. Also Ahmed Iqbal Haider in the play, Syed Salauddin Zaki in the film and Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay in the recitation.
Sujata Azim
The original name was Tandra Majumdar, now known as ‘Sujata Azim’. She is the daughter of the Thanapara zamindar family of Kushtia. It is the first ‘Rupban’ on the big screen. He is best known for his role in the 1975 film Rupban. There are many more memorable characters. He also started a family with a hero. She married actor Azim in 1986. Although she has been away from acting for almost a decade after 1986, she currently acts in television and movies.
Raisul Islam Asad
Asaduzzaman Mohammad Raisul Islam. Who is known as Raisul Islam Asad. He was born on June 15, 1952. He has acted on radio, theater, television and film. He won the National Film Award for Best Actor four times. In 1972, Asad acted in the first play, ‘Ami Raja Hoba Na’ and ‘Sarpabishayak’. His first film was released in 1973. Tora Manush Ha. Assad is also directing plays. Assad participated in the guerilla warfare in Dhaka in 1971 during the Bangladesh War of Independence.
Papia Sarwar
Papia Sarwar is a publisher of Rabindra Sangeet. In 2013, he received the Rabindra Award from the Bangla Academy. He received the 2015 Bangla Academy scholarship. He was initiated into music by Wahidul Haque, Sanjeeda Khatun and Jahedur Rahim in 1966 and later at the Bulbul Fine Arts Academy. He formed a song group called ‘Gitsudha’ in 1998.
Bhaswar banerjee
Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay was born on February 11, 1952 in Khulna. Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay is simultaneously a recitation artist, actor, voice and speech instructor, media and film instructor, theater instructor, and drama writer. He did a three-year postgraduate degree from the National School of Drama in Delhi. He has a Master’s in Mass Communication and Journalism from Dhaka University and a PhD in Theater from Rabindra Bharati University. He has performed as an artist on the Bangladesh Betar list since 1980 and on Bangladesh Television since 1987. He regularly conducts workshops on excellence and recitation of voice and speech. It also provides regular training in news presentation and program presentation. Provides regular acting training in theater groups.
