The minimum temperature in Dhaka is 10 degrees Celsius.
It has spread across the country since the season three cold snap began in Uttar Janapada four days ago. The lowest temperature this season is being felt in different parts of the country. Division cities, including Dhaka, posted the lowest temperature of the year on Monday.
The temperature in Dhaka was 10 degrees Celsius on Monday and 11.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The temperature is likely to continue for the next two days, the Department of Meteorology said.
Srimangal has recorded the lowest temperature in the country at 5.5 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the temperature in Rajarhat of Rangpur Division was 5.5, which is the lowest of the season.
Previously, on December 19, the minimum temperature in Rajarhat was 6.8. Rajarhat, Rajshahi, Bogra, Ishwardi and Syedpur are in 6 degrees. Faridpur, Gopalganj, Madaripur, Comilla, Badalgachhi, Tarash, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Tentulia, Dimla, Jessore and Barisal are in 6 degrees. Tangail, Nikli, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Kumarkhali and Bhola are in 6 degrees. Rangamati, Feni, Satkhira, Khulna, Patuakhali, and Khepupara are within 9 degrees. Sandwip, Hatia, Chandpur, Sylhet and Mongla, including the capital Dhaka, in the middle of 10 degrees.
Meanwhile, a strong cold snap prevails in the Nilphamari, Chuadanga and Moulvibazar districts, and a mild to moderate cold prevails in the areas of Sitakundu, Rangamati, Comilla, Feni, Sandwip and Hatia, including the divisions of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Rangpur. This can continue for a few more days.
Meteorologist Abdur Rahman said this temperature is the lowest temperature this winter. In early December, the temperature hovered around this. This condition can persist for the next two days. The day after tomorrow the temperature may rise slightly.
Meteorologist Ruhul Quddus said that the cold snap is now sweeping across the country, including Dhaka. Winter will continue for three or four more days. Since there are severe and moderate types of cold spells; It will take time to cut it. According to the Department of Meteorology, the extent of the subcontinental high pressure zone is in West Bengal and its adjacent areas. The seasonal light pressure is found in the Bay of Bengal. As a result, the weather can be mostly dry.
On the other hand, there can be moderate to heavy fog across the country from midnight to morning. Winter will feel comparatively more in the icy air. According to the Department of Meteorology, there is a cold snap in all parts of the country except Cox’s Bazar and Maijdicourt. However, Ruhul Quddus has hinted that the minimum temperature is not likely to drop.
