Alexei Navalny, Russia’s main opposition leader, has become popular with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his government. The protests have intensified since his arrest. There were widespread protests against Putin across the country on Sunday. The protest demanding Navalny’s release has gotten creative. Blue lingerie, toilet cleaning brushes, snowballs and snow graffiti have become symbols of the protest.

The AFP news agency reported that Navalny’s underwear was poisoned in blue. Protesters have been hanging blue boxers (underwear) on road sign posts since last December. These images are also spreading on social media.

Navalny recently complained in a video message that Putin had a luxurious complex on the other side of the Black Sea. He also presented a list of what is in this complex. He stated that the market value of the complex is approximately 135 crore US dollars (11,465 crore rupees). This information did not attract the people of Russia too much. He pulled out another piece of information. That is, a brush worth 19,719 (Rs. 52,815) was used to clean the bathrooms in the complex. As a result, the toilet brush has become a symbol of the ongoing protests.
